Octavia Green, Esq.

Octavia M. Green, Esq. is a business and trademark lawyer. Octavia received her Bachelors of Science in Marketing Management from Virginia Tech in 2011.  Upon graduating from Virginia Tech, Octavia continued her education at the University of Miami School of Law, where she received her Juris Doctorate in 2015.  She also received her Master’s in Music Business from the University of Miami’s Frost School of Music in 2015.  

 

In her early years of legal practice, Octavia’s work largely involved commercial business litigation.  She started her career at a regional law firm as an associate attorney in Miami, Florida before transitioning to a national law firm, where her practice involved litigating both federal and state lawsuits for corporate clients.  Octavia also served as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Rodney Smith in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida in May 2020-May 2021.  Most recently, Octavia is an Examining Attorney at the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).  

 

Octavia was named “Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch in America”for her work as a commercial business litigator in 2021 and 2022. 

 

Aside from her legal experience, Octavia previously held various Board positions with the Wilkie D. Ferguson, Jr. Bar Association, in Miami, Florida, where she served as Group II Director from 2018-2019 and as Secretary from 2019-2020.  

 

In March 2023, Octavia launched her own podcast series, “Legally *Unapologetic,” where she discusses various topics, unique to black women and professionals in corporate America.  During this experience, Octavia discovered her love for creating her own content in preparation of her podcast episodes.  She also finds love in engaging in insightful discussions pertaining to topics that are often difficult for people of color to discuss in the corporate workplace.  Through her work, she hopes to continue to shed light on these issues while serving as an advocate for mental health and self-care.  Her goal through her series is to encourage those to be authentic selves, unapologetically.  

 

In her free time, Octavia enjoys traveling, attending sporting events and concerts, working out and spending time with her family and friends.  Octavia is from Washington, DC and now lives in Atlanta, Georgia.
